Since its founding in 1953 by John Fernandes Jr., the company has been dedicated to the art of tile and stone installation through three generations of the Fernandes family. The company began as Peninsula Art Tile, founded by John’s brother-in-law, Joe Costa. John's journey into the family business paved the way for his sons, Rick and David, who opened Fernandes Tile Company in 1983. Their commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and customer service helped the company expand its reach and tackle larger projects, establishing them as a trusted name in Stockton.
In 1993, under Rick's leadership, the company transitioned to Allied Tile Company, focusing on larger residential and commercial ventures across California and beyond. Michael Fernandes, the third generation, joined the family business in 1998, further diversifying the services offered to include granite, marble, quartz slab, solid surface, and concrete counter installations.
