Buffalo Urban Development Corporation (BUDC) is a not-for-profit development agency dedicated to revitalizing the City of Buffalo by reclaiming distressed lands and buildings for future development. Established to enhance urban economic development, BUDC engages in the acquisition, remediation, and management of these properties, creating a welcoming environment for private investments.
The mission of BUDC is twofold: first, to support the development efforts aimed at attracting and retaining businesses within Buffalo; second, to lead initiatives that contribute to the revitalization of downtown Buffalo. Among its key projects are the Buffalo Building Reuse Project (BBRP) and Race for Place initiatives, which aim to collaborate with various public and private stakeholders in improving urban spaces. BUDC also assists with financial coordination for adaptive re-use projects in downtown areas, ensuring enhancements in public right-of-way that benefit the community.
Notably, BUDC is also taking the lead in transforming the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park, enhancing this significant area for public use and enjoyment.
