Don Gress Construction, Inc. (DGCI) is a respected excavating and grading contractor located in Washington, Indiana. Established in 1946 by Don Gress, a WWII veteran, the company began with a singular D-4 Caterpillar and a commitment to quality and integrity. Don's initial venture into the construction industry involved stump removal for local farmers, eventually expanding as demand grew due to a government initiative encouraging pond construction for agricultural purposes.
Over the years, DGCI has developed a solid reputation for excellence, marked by its contributions to local landmarks such as the Country Oaks Golf Course and the Washington Sports Complex. In 1950, Don teamed up with his brothers to form Gress Brothers Construction, which specialized in heavy machinery. This partnership continued until it was absorbed by Don Gress Construction in 1983.
Despite Don's passing in 1994, the family legacy continues, now managed by his son, Dan Gress, and grandson, Donnie Gress, alongside Linda Gress, Dan's wife, as the office manager. The company prides itself on being family-owned and operated, carrying forth the principles of honesty, high-quality work, and customer satisfaction that Don established over 60 years ago. DGCI remains dedicated to its clientele, whether handling minor jobs or large-scale projects, maintaining a resilient 'Can Do' attitude throughout.
With a history of successful project completion and a family tradition ingrained in its operations, Don Gress Construction, Inc. is well-equipped to tackle a variety of excavation and grading needs while upholding an unwavering commitment to quality service.
