Eastern Iowa Electric LLC, also known as Eastern Iowa REC, is a cooperative electric utility that has been dedicated to serving the rural communities of eastern Iowa for more than 80 years. Established to provide affordable and dependable electrical service, the cooperative spans across 12 counties along the picturesque Mississippi River, from Sabula in the north to Burlington in the south, and extending west to Iowa City. The cooperative's headquarters is located in Wilton, Iowa, complemented by additional offices in DeWitt, Lone Tree, and Wapello to ensure efficient service delivery.
As a member-focused organization, Eastern Iowa REC supports a diverse membership base that includes traditional farming operations, rural residential areas, commercial and industrial developments, as well as recreational facilities. The cooperative is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors that ensures the organization operates in the best interest of its members, adhering to cooperative principles.
