Buford Landers, the company was established to not only meet the supply needs of its founding members but also to serve other professional builders in the industry. With an unwavering commitment to quality and service, GBS quickly expanded beyond its original Mauldin location, growing into new areas including Anderson and Hendersonville, NC.
Renamed GBS Lumber in 1979 to accommodate regional growth, the company further evolved in 2011 when it rebranded as GBS Building Supply. This change reflected not just their expertise in lumber but also their offerings in installed sales, remodeling, renovation design services, and commercial applications.
In partnership with US LBM, a leading national distributor, GBS Building Supply has enhanced its capability to provide a wide array of quality building products and services locally. The company offers an extensive product range, including lumber, drywall, roofing and siding, windows and doors, cabinetry, decking and railing, as well as specialized services in estimating, delivery, and design.
As of today, GBS operates several locations across South Carolina and parts of Georgia, with a dedicated and growing team of over 100 employee-owners, who are committed to supporting builders and contractors with exceptional products and service.
