GreenTurf LawnCare was established in spring 2001 by agronomist Justin Harris, initially serving just six clients. The company has experienced significant growth, evolving into a reputable provider of premium lawn care programs due to word-of-mouth referrals. In 2005, Justin made the bold decision to leave his agronomy job to focus entirely on GreenTurf. Over the years, the range of services has expanded, including commercial lawn maintenance, sprinkler system installations, and hardscaping like retaining walls and patios. Since 2008, GreenTurf has successfully installed over 100 sprinkler systems in both residential and commercial properties across southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas.
As the business continued to flourish, GreenTurf has invested in modern equipment to meet the growing demands, including commercial lawn mowers and a stand-on skid loader for difficult terrains. In 2018, Justin and his family built a unique barndominium, which houses a shop and living quarters, allowing them to maintain and store equipment efficiently. The property also features a sod farm, ensuring that sod supplied to customers comes from meticulously cared-for grass.
GreenTurf is a family-oriented business, with Justin's wife, Kaylynn, and their four children involved in various capacities. Their experiences and backgrounds enrich the company's values and community engagement. The Harris family is particularly passionate about raising awareness for children with intellectual disabilities, drawing from their personal experiences.
