Kauai Seascapes Nursery, Inc. (KSN) is a family-owned and operated tropical nursery and landscaping business established in the early 1980s by Steve Roush. Initially started as a backyard nursery and lawn care service, it evolved into a lush tropical nursery when the Roush family relocated to Kalihiwai Ridge in 1992. Under Steve's leadership, the nursery expanded to include a zoysia sod farm, various plant propagation areas, and extensive field stock of both small and large potted plants, including unique seedling palms from worldwide collections. A passionate plant lover, Steve specialized in creating hybrid Ti plants with vibrant colors and breeding colorful crotons. His dedication extended beyond botany; he was also an avid surfer and fisherman, sharing his catch with friends and family, thus adding a unique natural fertilizer to the nursery's plants.
Following Steve's untimely passing in April 2011, his wife Mary and daughter Serina took the reins of the business, committed to preserving Steve's vision and legacy. Mary, with her background in biology and natural sciences, and Serina, who returned from Portland with business acumen, have successfully managed the nursery alongside other family members. The nursery continues to prioritize plant propagation while offering a fine collection of quality botanical specimens.
