NexGen ICF LLC is at the forefront of transforming residential and commercial building processes by implementing sustainable and efficient construction methods. Specializing in insulated concrete forms (ICF), the company aims to bring the numerous advantages of ICF technology to the Midwest and other underserved markets. Founded in 2020, NexGen ICF emerged from the established ICF company, Newable Building Sources, which was previously initiated in 2016 by Ryan Derrer, a seasoned general contractor with over 20 years of experience. The inspiration for this switch to ICF was rooted in Ryan's dedication to educating others about this efficient building method, making construction more accessible and widely understood.
Alongside his partner Callista, who has a background in education, they worked to develop training programs focused on the benefits and practical implementation of ICF construction. Their efforts proved successful, leading to the strategic decision to expand the business considerably.
In early 2023, engineer and entrepreneur Jim Gartner joined the team, investing in the growing company and helping to rebrand it as NexGen ICF, symbolizing a mission geared towards the next generation of builders. NexGen ICF's systems are designed to streamline the construction process by combining multiple traditional construction steps into one, thereby offering a cost-effective, resilient, and environmentally-friendly alternative. With high density expanded polystyrene foam serving as both a form for poured concrete and insulation for structures, ICF construction not only enhances energy efficiency but also provides superior strength and durability. This innovative approach promotes safer, eco-friendly building practices while ensuring customer satisfaction through expert guidance in material procurement, training, and installation assistance, positioning NexGen ICF as a leader in sustainable construction solutions.
