Pound Management Inc. (PMI) has been at the forefront of owner representation and construction project management for over 40 years. Founded by Leslie Alspach, who began as a general contractor in Anchorage, Alaska, PMI has successfully managed a diverse range of construction and property development projects throughout the Bay Area. The company’s journey began in 1984 when Alspach took on his first major project, collaborating with a group of doctors to build a medical office building. This experience fueled his passion for owner representation, leading him to establish a firm that prioritizes the interests of its clients in all phases of construction.
In 1987, PMI expanded its operations to the Bay Area, managing numerous significant projects, including medical office buildings and ventures for high-profile clients such as Japan Airlines. Today, PMI remains dedicated to guiding owners through the complexities of construction projects, ensuring successful outcomes through a collaborative approach.
The firm’s philosophy is rooted in reducing uncertainties and improving predictability throughout the construction process, from initial design to project completion and ongoing maintenance. PMI understands that construction projects involve a multitude of professionals and variables that can impact schedules and budgets. Therefore, they emphasize the importance of early involvement in the planning stages, tailoring their services to meet the specific needs of their clients.
With a team of 14 experienced professionals led by Alspach and partners, Murray Nicolson, Sean Grinnell, and Matt Rush, PMI operates out of offices in Oakland and Napa. Their service offerings include building project development and management, team member selection, budgeting, design review, and construction oversight, among others. This comprehensive suite of services is aimed at empowering clients while ensuring their projects are carried out with efficiency and expertise. PMI continues to welcome the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities and assist clients with their next construction endeavors.
