Red Cedar Steel Southwest Inc. was founded in 1977 by Larry Hayes as a small family business in Wisconsin, with a singular vision of delivering quality steel erection services. With over 45 years of dedicated service, the company has grown to become one of the top 20 steel erectors in the United States, as recognized by ENR magazine. Larry initially started the business from his home, managing all aspects of operations by himself. Over the years, his son Pete joined him, first as an ironworker and later transitioning into management. After taking over the company in 1998, Pete expanded operations into Minnesota and then further into the southwestern United States by opening a branch in Phoenix, Arizona in 2007. The Hayes family has consistently emphasized core principles of honesty, integrity, and a strong safety culture, which underpin the success of Red Cedar Steel. As an AISC certified steel erector, the company provides a variety of services, including steel erection, miscellaneous metals, solar installations, and metal deck & shear studs.
