Rocking P Livestock, a family-owned enterprise led by the Phillips family, has a rich history that spans over four generations in the breeding of Simmental and commercial cattle. The journey began in 1974 when Chan showcased his Simmental steer at the first North American event in Louisville, KY. This experience ignited a passion for raising quality cattle, evolving from a youthful interest into a full-fledged career and way of life for the family. Through perseverance and commitment to quality breeding, Rocking P has expanded its operations, acquiring more land and increasing its herd size, which has enabled them to introduce an embryo transfer (ET) program.
The Phillips family continues to contribute actively to the cattle industry, with Chan and Tonya’s children also involved in various farming operations across the country. Their daughter, Morgan, runs Wallace Cattle Company in Missouri, while their other child, AK, serves as the General Manager at Red River Farms in Texas. The family’s dedication is further exemplified by Keith and Lindsay, who oversee daily operations at Rocking P from their home in Kentucky, with their children participating in the day-to-day activities of the farm.
Rocking P Livestock takes pride in its participation in the Paternal Power Bull Sale, which occurs every March, alongside offering elite show heifer prospects during consignment sales and a selection of cattle available for private treaty sales. The family’s goals are straightforward: to maintain a high-quality production, uphold a commitment to customer satisfaction, and to establish their program as one rooted in integrity. Their ongoing support for the American Junior Simmental Association demonstrates their commitment not only to the growth of their own enterprise but also to nurturing the next generation of cattle ranchers.
