The company traces its roots back to the early 1960s when Tom Moore and Ira Beebe established Tom and Ira’s Septic Service. Utilizing a single 1949 International pump truck, they initiated their 'dirty work' with a commitment to high-quality service. Over the years, through various reorganizations and partnerships, the business evolved significantly. Tom’s Septic Service was incorporated, and in 1972, a merger with Wood & Sons Construction marked a pivotal expansion in their offerings, adding septic installations, repairs, and maintenance to their portfolio.
The company experienced further growth when Willie Kirkpatrick joined and initiated the precast concrete branch for septic tanks and grease traps. In 1989, Willie took sole ownership and relocated the business to Castroville. The year 2006 saw Tom’s Septic Tank Service being purchased by the Don Chapin Company, resulting in a division of services into Tom’s Septic Construction and Don Chapin Pre-Cast. Today, Tom’s Septic Construction is proud to be recognized as the largest and most efficiently managed septic construction company on the Central Coast, with over 100 years of combined experience among their staff.
