Founded in 2003, Valley Soil Inc. emerged as a response to the growing water crisis in Southern California. Recognizing the escalating demand for water due to rapid residential growth, a progressive water district enlisted the expertise of Eric L. Anderson, a landscape irrigation specialist with over three decades of experience. The initiative aimed at developing a cost-effective water conservation program, primarily focused on high water usage areas. Valley Soil’s approach involved conducting free water audits, which then led to the installation of water-saving devices, including advanced smart irrigation systems, often at little to no cost for participants. This model proved extremely successful, achieving a reduction in water demand for program participants that was seven times higher than non-participants, providing critical savings amid water scarcity.
Valley Soil's commitment to water conservation has garnered accolades, including the 2007 Clair A. Hill Award for Excellence from the Association of California Water Agencies. Over the years, the company has conducted more than 8,700 water audits and installed over 3,500 weather-based irrigation controllers, collectively saving approximately 170 million gallons of water annually—enough to fill over 8,500 swimming pools.
Expanding beyond landscape irrigation, Valley Soil now offers services for indoor water audits and retrofits, helping clients from homeowners to municipalities tailor solutions to their unique water usage needs. Their certified team not only provides installation but also data tracking to enhance water-saving efforts and improve overall efficiency, addressing all aspects of water use from gardens to plumbing fixtures. Valley Soil's continuous education and certification support for its staff underline its commitment to outstanding service and expertise in water conservation solutions. As a pioneer in innovative, community-based water conservation efforts, Valley Soil Inc. remains dedicated to helping Californians and Arizonans save water, time, and money while promoting a sustainable future.
