Initially starting as a means to support their family following the cessation of aircraft production, they laid the groundwork for what would become a leading roofing contractor in the Gulf South. The business took root in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where it thrived due to the area's expansive industrial and commercial activities along the Mississippi River. Over the years, Vaughan Roofing has fostered a strong commitment to safety, quality, customer service, and integrity, principles that have driven its growth and success. In 1962, R. S. Vaughan, Jr., also known as Sonny, joined the company after his military service, instilling a relentless focus on customer satisfaction and innovation in safety practices within the workforce. The family-oriented business culture continued as Sonny’s children, Kevin and Michael, joined in the operations, learning every aspect of the company from the ground up. In 2005, Sonny Vaughan passed the leadership to his sons, who uphold the founding values while steering the company into contemporary specialized roofing solutions.
