Established by Lino Vieira Sr. and his wife Mary Avila, the company has a rich heritage rooted in an immigrant story that dates back to the Azores Islands of Portugal. Lino immigrated to the United States in 1958, starting with humble beginnings as a dairy hand before making his way into the construction industry as a drywaller. His hard work coincided with Silicon Valley's economic boom, which opened numerous opportunities.
With Mary, who also immigrated from the Azores, they founded San Jose Drywall, which became one of the largest drywall companies in the Bay Area. Their successes in drywall eventually led them to pursue their passion for real estate development and investment. Even after Lino's passing in 2008, the family continues to uphold the core values of honesty, respect, and dedication that he instilled in the company's culture. Today, Mary and their six children, along with seven grandchildren, actively lead and manage Vieira Investments.
