Description

Williams Heating Inc, established in 1929 by Clayton J Williams and his son Digby E Williams, has been a cornerstone of Vashon Island's heating and fuel supply for decades. Initially focused on providing kerosene to local chicken farmers following the closure of their family sawmill, the business quickly evolved to serve a wider clientele by supplying home heating oil and servicing oil-fired furnaces and boilers. Over the years, they became a key gasoline provider for various local service stations and also offered diesel fuels for agricultural and construction use.

The company's operations included transporting products via barge initially, but by the mid-1970s, they shifted to truck deliveries to adapt to changing costs and environmental regulations. The leadership of Williams Heating has remained within the family; Clayton D Williams led the business until his retirement in 1989, when his son Dennis took the helm.

Over time, the business relocated several times to accommodate growth and operational needs, culminating in its current location at 19410 Vashon Highway SW. Today, Williams Heating continues to thrive as a mixed service provider, offering home heating oil, burner service, fuel hauling, as well as retail sales of gasoline—now including ethanol-free options—and diesel fuel. With a team committed to customer service and a wealth of experience, Williams Heating stands as a reliable source of fuel and heating solutions for the Vashon community.
