Founded in 1948 by Howard Wyckoff and his brother Leo Murray, Wyckoff’s Plumbing has a rich history rooted in the Humboldt County community of California. Initially, Howard ventured into the plumbing business after moving away from dairy farming, seizing the opportunity amid the growing demand for natural gas lines as the town transitioned from wood-burning stoves. The company officially opened its doors on September 1, 1952, in a small store on Main Street.
After Howard decided to step away, Leo took over the business, shortly facing adversity as the original store was destroyed in a fire. Undeterred, Leo rebuilt and transformed Wyckoff's Plumbing into a thriving hub for do-it-yourself enthusiasts by offering an extensive selection of plumbing, hardware, and electrical supplies. In 1978, the business relocated to its current site, where it carved out a stellar reputation for service quality and customer satisfaction.
Today, the company operates two fully stocked retail locations and boasts a skilled team of six licensed plumbers. The legacy continues with Ryan Reback, Leo’s grandson, who began working at Wyckoff's as a teenager. Ryan embodies the values instilled by his grandfather, having worked his way up from menial tasks to becoming the owner. He brings a strong work ethic and dedication to customer service, ensuring that all employees uphold the company's high standards.
Wyckoff's Plumbing caters to both residential and commercial plumbing needs, offering services including septic tank pumping, plumbing repairs, and bathroom plumbing solutions. With a commitment to quality workmanship at reasonable prices, Wyckoff's Plumbing remains a trusted partner for do-it-yourselfers and homeowners in Fortuna and Redway, ensuring they have the tools and services needed to succeed in their projects.
